Believe in Your Dreams

Dreams and desires were placed in us like DNA. They are often evident in our childhood before they are crushed by people telling us the realities of life. When I was ten years old, I dreamt of writing books. It took many years until I realised that writing could be a career.
Other dreams, such as swimming with turtles, fire our imagination and if we follow them we see them fulfilled.
Not all dreams come true, of course. That’s why it’s hard to keep believing. Sometimes the dreams are fulfilled in ways we never could imagine or are replaced by other dreams.
Rather than become jaded, cynical and bitter if we don’t see our dreams come true in the way we expect, we need to believe that our dreams were planted for a reason and that reason may not be revealed until later in life.

Believe in God
Your God might not be my God, but I’m sure that if you have any sense of faith you will know in your heart that there is something in a lot of us that draws us to God. It’s been a long time, but when I was fifteen I decided to give God a chance and I haven’t look back. My faith looks different now. My understanding is different too—things I was absolutely certain of no longer seem so important and others that weren’t so important have become bigger. But, what I do know is that my life began when I chose to put my hand in the hand of God and run with all my might into the next adventure.
A life with God gives you a purpose beyond yourself. Belief has taken me to Cambodia, East Timor and to places in my soul I could never have imagined. The Bible puts it like this:
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
Dare to believe and explore faith. It’s a huge adventure.
In a world filled with hate,
we must still dare to hope.
In a world filled with anger,
we must still dare to comfort.
In a world filled with despair,
we must still dare to dream.
And in a world filled with distrust,
we must still dare to believe.

Believe and Step Out
When you have a dream, believe in it. Dare to believe there is a higher purpose and step out into adventure.
